FAQs
Search below for some of our most frequently asked questions...
Where are you based and what times do you run? We are based in St Albans at Sandringham School on a Thursday evening, 6PM - 9PM, and also the Dacorum area at Kings Langley School on a Friday evening, 6PM - 9PM.
Do you run in the school holidays? The Academies run according to the Hertfordshire school year (as far as possible) with breaks at half terms, Easter and Christmas.
How much is it? Membership is £156 per month (inclusive of VAT). This is our yearly fee + VAT, divided into 12 months. VAT (Value Added Tax) is a consumption tax added to most goods and services in the UK. Businesses collect it on behalf of HMRC.
My child is in Year 2 - are they too young to join? Will my seven year old cope with the late night? Generally we begin membership for those in school years 3 and up. This is mostly due to the 9PM finish. However, we encourage you to get in contact if your child is younger than this but you feel would benefit from our detailed training. Most of our young students cope perfectly well with the finish time - they are so engaged they don't have time to be tired!
Are there auditions to join? We do not audition for the Academy but encourage potential students to come for an Induction so you can meet the Team, see how we work and have a short informal interview. We want our students to be passionate, kind, and professional. All new students are subject to a trial period when joining where practitioners will make an assessment of their skills and their suitability for the programme.
Do you have a showcase every year? As we believe in 'learning by doing' we are always working towards a project or performance opportunity. This may sometimes take the form of a showcase but we like to challenge our students by providing a variety of performance opportunities - this can range from musicals, devised theatre, plays, fringe theatre, cabaret, concerts, screen acting, choirs, masked performance, and more.
